You've already built expertise in AI, digital transformation, or IT consulting. You're probably very good at what you do. But somewhere along the way, you started wondering whether you'll ever own it. This role exists because Gapps' AI and Automation business has grown faster than the leadership structure around it. Customer demand is real and validated. The team has sharp people. What's missing is someone who takes the whole thing and runs with it.
The role at a glance
✅ What you'll do: Take full ownership of Gapps' AI and Automation business unit, leading the team day-to-day, owning the P&L, and driving the business toward a €3M revenue target over the next 12 months.
✅ Where: Hybrid and flexible. Work from Gapps’ Helsinki HQ in Kalasatama or remotely from anywhere in Finland.
✅ Team: You report directly to Vesa Sironen (CEO). Your immediate team includes Lauri, Elmo, and a few hires who will join later this year.
✅ Compensation: Base salary €7,000–8,500 / month, annual bonus tied to EBITDA as part of the leadership team model, plus options.

What it needs is someone who takes full ownership of where it goes from here, with a clear €3M P&L target over twelve months. The structure is not handed to you pre-built, because the opportunity is in building it.
The €3M target is ambitious. It’s also the clearest possible signal that this is a real business with real expectations. You’ll operate as part of the Gapps leadership team, with a manager who gives you direction and then gets out of your way, and a team with the depth to do serious work once someone is clearly steering.

What the role involves
You’ll lead the AI and Automation business unit at Gapps on a day-to-day basis. That means owning the team’s direction, the client relationships, and the revenue outcome, all at once.
Your mission
People leadership: Lead Lauri, Elmo, and the new consultant starting in August in their daily work, act as their direct manager, and recruit the next people as the business grows.
P&L ownership: Carry full financial responsibility for the AI and Automation business. Follow the numbers, report on them, and make decisions based on them.
Key account leadership: Own the strategic relationship with the anchor customer, deepening it into a long-term partnership and bringing the frameworks built there into new customer relationships over time.
Productization: Build scalable AI service models that work across multiple clients rather than one-off custom builds.
Internal AI development: Together with Katja, lead Gapps’ own AI development and look at how AI can improve internal processes and operations.
A typical week
There’s no single template for a day in this role, and that’s intentional. Some days you’ll be in a customer workshop, helping a client understand where they are on their AI journey and what a realistic next step looks like. Other days, you’ll be in planning conversations with Lauri and Elmo, working through priorities and ensuring the team’s capacity aligns with what matters most. You’ll have regular touchpoints with Vesa on business direction, and you’ll spend time on pipeline development alongside the sales hire as new customer relationships develop. Expect a mix of strategic thinking, hands-on client work in the earlier months, and ongoing team leadership throughout.

Goals & metrics
30 days: Understand the team’s current state, the anchor customer’s situation, Gapps’ AI offering, and the real priorities.
90 days: You’ve taken over daily team leadership, built trust with Lauri and Elmo, strengthened the anchor customer relationship, and have a clear plan for closing the team’s capability gaps.
12 months: The AI and Automation business is at or on track to reach €3M in revenue; the team is working well with the right people in the right roles; and the offering has been productized sufficiently that the team’s work scales across multiple clients simultaneously.

Benefits & practicals
Salary: Base salary 7,000–8,500€/month plus annual bonus as part of the Gapps leadership team model, tied to EBITDA and paid out in February or March, and options.
Location: The role is hybrid and permanent. You can split your time between Gapps’ Helsinki HQ in Kalasatama and remote work from anywhere in Finland, based on what works best for you and the team. The Kalasatama office has ergonomic workstations, quiet focus spaces, a gym, and snacks. If you work primarily remotely, Gapps will provide the tools and support to set up a proper home workstation.

Business leadership experience: You’ve held P&L responsibility or led a team with real business accountability before. This is not your first time owning outcomes.
AI understanding grounded in business: You know how AI applies to real business problems, you can tell a client what’s realistic and what isn’t, and you can lead a technical team without needing to be the most technical person in the room.
Experience leading senior experts: You’ve managed highly skilled domain experts and earned their trust through clarity and direction, not micromanagement.
Customer-facing credibility: You’re comfortable serving as the senior person in client relationships, including with business leadership and C-level stakeholders.
Excellent Finnish and strong English are required for the role. This is non-negotiable.
