Managed Services Lead — take the lead on a business unit growing from the current €1.3M to €2M by the end of 2027, with a clear ambition to go much further
Helsinki (Hybrid) · Full-time, Permanent
You've already built or run a managed services function. You know the operational reality, the service logic, and what it takes to keep customers happy. Now comes the rarer opportunity: taking full ownership of the managed services business that a 15-year-old Google Cloud and AI solution partner is actively building into something much bigger.
The role at a glance
✅ What you'll do: You’d take full ownership of Managed Services products, operations and business: running it day-to-day, shaping the service portfolio, and building a clear 2–3-year vision for where it goes next.
✅ Where: Hybrid and flexible. Work from Gapps’ Helsinki HQ in Kalasatama or remotely from anywhere in Finland. Real presence with the team, customers, and leadership is expected, but there is no rigid office requirement.
✅ Your career growth: If you build what needs to be built here, director-level ownership of Managed Services as its own business unit is a realistic next step. This is a role where your fingerprints will be visible fast.
✅ Team: You’d work closely with Tuomas Hulkkonen (Business Unit Director, Essentials) and Vesa Sironen (CEO). Their leadership style: clear expectations, visible support, no micromanagement. Your team handles technical support, cloud automations, and continuous customer development.
✅ Compensation: Base salary: 7,000–8,000€/month, plus an on-target bonus of 12,000€/year, paid monthly, based on business unit margin performance.
Why not apply: This role asks you to operate and build at the same time: keep the service running today while designing what it should look like in two years. If you are looking for a clean, well-defined remit with a finished playbook, this probably is not it. If building something that is still taking shape genuinely appeals to you, keep reading.
Why Gapps is your next move
Maybe you have been running a service delivery function, leading a technical team, or building service packages in a consultancy, and you have gotten results. You can see exactly what should change, how the service model should be restructured, and where the growth lies, but you do not have the mandate to pursue it.
Or maybe the organization around you has grown to the point where every good idea takes six months to get approved. You are executing someone else’s vision, and you have started wondering what it would feel like to build your own.
That is what this role offers. Full ownership of Gapps's Managed Services business: operations, portfolio, team, and the vision for where it goes next. Gapps is growing this business unit from the current €1.3M to €2M by the end of 2027, with a clear ambition to make it much larger.

What the role involves
Your mission
Own the operational running of Managed Services, ensuring customers receive what they were promised, the team has clarity on priorities, and escalations are resolved without everything landing on your desk.
Lead the development and own the service portfolio, get specific about what Gapps offers, to whom, on what terms, and why it is worth paying for. Build productized services in a way that is commercially sensible and repeatable.
Identify where AI, automation, and cloud technology can change how the service is delivered and, specifically, how AI solutions like Gemini Enterprise can be packaged into scalable, recurring service offerings.
Drive growth and business, support sales and customer relationships by speaking credibly about service value, development roadmaps, and what a long-term managed services partnership with Gapps looks like.
Track the numbers that matter: margin, service quality, team capacity, customer satisfaction, and profitability, and use them to make decisions rather than just report them.
Create a supportive team structure that fosters ownership and autonomy.
A typical week
At its core, this role sits at the intersection of four areas:
Keeping the service running well today.
Developing the people who deliver it.
Building a clearer, more scalable service portfolio to drive business growth
Forming a grounded view of where Managed Services should be in two to three years.
Stakeholders
Tuomas Hulkkonen, Business Unit Director (Essentials) — Your closest working relationships will be with Tuomas, who holds the broader Essentials Business Unit vision and will be your key sparring partner on strategic direction.
Vesa Sironen, CEO — Vesa, your other close colleague, who owns budget, mandate, and organizational priorities
Your Direct Team — Your direct team handles day-to-day delivery: technical support, cloud automations, and continuous development of customer environments.
Sales Team — You will work regularly with the sales team as managed services conversations become part of customer development.
Technical Specialists — Collaborate with technical specialists across cloud, automation, and AI as you shape what the service model can do.

Goals & metrics
30 days: The goal is to understand the current service portfolio, the team’s strengths and gaps, the biggest operational friction points, and the financial picture.
90 days: You will have proposed concrete changes to the service portfolio, introduced clearer operating rhythms for the team, defined the metrics that matter most, and brought leadership a grounded perspective on where Managed Services should go, backed by your own thinking.
12 months: The business should have a clear 2–3-year vision and roadmap, a more productized, sellable service offering, a team that operates with greater autonomy, and early results from applying AI and automation to service delivery. You will have shown that this role can grow into director-level ownership of the Managed Services business.
About Gapps
Gapps is a leading Finnish digital workplace company helping organizations work smarter with cloud-based tools. Since 2010, we’ve helped hundreds of companies adopt Google solutions that boost collaboration, productivity, and culture.
That next chapter is shifting its center of gravity from one-off implementation projects and license revenue toward productized services, long-term partnerships, and AI-driven solutions that create recurring, measurable value for customers. Managed Services sits at the heart of that shift.
Our culture is open, dynamic, and constantly evolving: we test, learn, and grow together. The people who thrive here are autonomous experts who take ownership, work in an intentionally unfinished yet highly professional environment, and want to solve real business problems. Leadership gives responsibility early, pairs decision-making with collective problem-solving, and expects that if something does not work, you fix it together.
Benefits & practicals
Salary: Base salary 7,000–8,000€/month plus an on-target bonus of 12,000€/year paid monthly, based on business unit margin performance.
Location: Hybrid. Work from Gapps’s Helsinki HQ in Kalasatama or remotely from anywhere in Finland. The Kalasatama office has ergonomic workstations, quiet focus spaces, a gym, and snacks. If you work remotely, you will also get the tools and support to set up a proper workstation at home.
Employment type: Full-time, permanent.
Health and wellbeing: Extensive occupational healthcare, comprehensive insurance, and a benefits package covering both physical and mental health. The specifics will be walked through during the process.
Professional growth: Access to Google certifications and support for other professional development that makes sense for the role. Dedicated time for studying and developing your expertise is built into your working time.
The team: Small, skilled, and used to working with a high degree of autonomy. Real sparring partners, a low-hierarchy environment where decisions do not disappear into approval chains, and a genuine opportunity to influence the company's direction.
How to apply
Interested? Awesome. Before we go further, let’s make sure you’ve got the critical essentials to succeed here.
You do not need to tick every box, but these are the things that matter most. Your title or industry background matters less than whether you have genuinely built something, a service model, a portfolio, a repeatable way of delivering value to customers:
Top 5 must-haves
You have real experience productizing services, getting specific about what is offered, to whom, on what terms, and packaging it in a way that is commercially repeatable.
You can hold operational ownership and strategic vision at the same time: running the service today while forming a clear view of where it should go in two to three years.
You have strong enough technical understanding to speak credibly with cloud, automation, and AI specialists.
You know how to lead a team of experts without micromanaging. You create clarity, build ownership, and get out of the way.
You bring your own perspective, and you are willing to challenge existing thinking.
Relevant backgrounds include managed services and service delivery, cloud and infrastructure consultancy, management consulting with hands-on implementation experience, solution leadership or technical pre-sales, and entrepreneurial or product-led roles where you have built and scaled a service offering. A GCP or Google background is an advantage, but not a requirement; what matters more is how quickly you learn and your ability to see opportunities in the Google ecosystem.
