What this role is about, in short

Let’s start with the essentials:

✅ Purpose: You’ll help organisations succeed with Google Workspace changes that actually stick – from migrations and configurations to adoption, AI enablement, and large-scale transformation projects. This sits at the core of Gapps’ evolving, service-driven business.

✅ Location: Hybrid role in Finland. Work remotely or from our Helsinki HQ (Kalasatama). What matters is impact and ownership, not how much you visit the office.

✅ Growth: You can grow deeper as a Google Workspace expert, move toward project & change leadership, or shape how Gapps develops its productised services and AI-enabled delivery models.

✅ Team: This isn’t a lone-wolf setup. You’ll work closely with your team consisting of solution engineers, project & change managers, and senior consultants – sharing responsibility, sparring daily, and building solutions together.

✅ Compensation: Salary range 48 000–60 000 € / year depending on your experience and seniority. (Senior profiles discussed individually.)

What you’d actually do

As a Google Workspace Consultant, you work at the intersection of technology, people, and change. Your job is to make sure Google Workspace environments are not only technically sound, but also usable, secure, and fit for how the organisation works today.

Your work typically includes:

Google Workspace–focused projects such as deployments, migrations, mergers, carve-outs, and environment consolidations
Supporting customers in configuring, developing, and governing their Workspace environments
Working closely with project & change managers to ensure adoption, communication, and training are part of every delivery
Sparring with solution engineers on technical decisions and helping translate them into real-life impact for end users
Participating in discovery & planning phases: understanding the current environment, risks, integrations, and constraints before anything is built or changed
Acting as a trusted expert toward customers – explaining options, setting expectations, and guiding decisions calmly and clearly

You don’t need to be the deepest technical specialist in every situation, but you do need to understand the possibilities, limitations, and consequences well enough to co-create the right solution with the team.

What a typical week looks like

There’s no single “average day”, but most weeks include a mix of:

Customer meetings and workshops (remote and occasionally on-site)
Project work: planning, coordinating, reviewing configurations, supporting rollouts
Internal collaboration with project managers, solution engineers, and other consultants
Hands-on work such as documentation, onboarding materials, training content, or environment reviews
Problem-solving when reality doesn’t match the original plan (because it rarely does)

Some projects are intense and complex. Others are smaller and more contained. What stays consistent is the expectation that you take ownership of your part and communicate clearly when things change.

Who you’d work with

Internally, you’ll work closely with:

Project & Change Managers, who lead overall delivery and change tracks
Solution Architects & Engineers / Google Workspace technical experts, who focus on the technical backbone and configurations
Other Google Workspace consultants with different backgrounds and strengths

On the customer side, your stakeholders typically include:

IT and internal project managers
Information security and legal
HR, internal communications, and business stakeholders
Steering groups in larger organisations

This role suits someone who’s comfortable working across functions and adjusting their communication style depending on who’s in the room.

How success is measured

Success in this role isn’t about rushing through tasks or ticking boxes. After the first 6–12 months, success looks like:

Customers trust you and give positive feedback on both expertise and reliability
Projects move forward smoothly, and issues are surfaced early, not hidden
You contribute to better ways of working – not just delivering, but improving how we deliver
You’ve grown your own understanding of Google Workspace environments, risks, and best practices in real customer contexts
